In an earlier post titled How are you perceived? we looked at the kind of lifestyle we live , now let’s bring some of that here. In Transferable Faith 1 , we talked about how the kind of life we live affects others. It affects our children as well cause they spend most of their time with parents, how they turn out to be later on in future when they are grown determines on what you teach them now and alot of that teaching will come from the life you live around them.
If you are an aggressive person, your children will end up that way too cause that’s what you’re transferring to them .Don’t be a bad example for your children. Do not go to church and leave them at home, when they grow they won’t go, start the process now! Also, never ask them to go while you stay at home!
Pray for your kids, it’s good and important but even more important is teaching them the word of God will change their hearts and their lives for the better. They won’t know what you didn’t teach them. Find every opportunity to teach your kids the word of God .
Deuteronomy 6:7 – And thou shalt ateach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt btalk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Also,
Deuteronomy 11:19 –
Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Let your children build their faith from a young age;
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Faith is the currency of heaven, if your children must please God and must be able to see things work for them they must have tremendous faith. The best inheritance your can give your children is the inheritance of faith. God can never allow a faith-full family to perish
Psalm 89:20 –
I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
Also,
Proverbs 13:22 –
A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.
Faith doesn’t work bu sentiment, emotions, etc it works by hope and belief. Prayer without faith is not effective and some might say even say useless . God won’t give you what you want, he will give you what you believe he can give you.
Even Jesus couldn’t do miracle in his hometown because of their unbelief. Looking at Matthew 13:58 –
And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.
Also in Mark 6:6 –
He was amazed at their lack of faith. Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.
In this generation, there is a need to continuously present our children to God.
